About

Nicholas Popp is the principal of Performance Packaging Consulting (PPC) and has been involved in the packaging industry since 1980. PPS was established in February 1997 after he recognized the industry’s need for a flexible and cost effective source of packaging expertise.

Packaging development experience at:

  • Hunt-Wesson Foods, a division of ConAgra Foods;

  • Taco Bell, a division of Yum! Brands;

  • Chevron Chemical;

  • Norcliff-Thayer, now part of Glaxo SmithKline

  • Packaging consulting

 

Experienced in many areas of packaging, having successfully worked in packaging operations, equipment engineering, plant engineering, R&D packaging development and packaging management. This experience, covering all phases of packaging development, converting, filling and distribution, has prepared Mr. Popp to quickly analyze situations, efficiently formulate solutions and effectively implement them.

  • Plastic bottles – lightweight designs with screw closures and labeling

  • Thermoformed containers – cups and tubs with flexible heat-seal closures

  • Glass jars – threaded and lug closures

  • Metal containers – cans and coatings

  • Paper wraps – various paper grades, coatings and treatments

  • Paperboard – folding cartons, formed cartons, clamshells and sleeves
